//Why I Launched My Digital Twins

I felt so guilty.

A founder messaged me on LinkedIn and sent me a document.

Although they didn't explicitly say so, I believe they were reaching out for investment. (Hint: asking directly for what you want in DMs helps cut down on a lot of back and forth.)

Their message was a bit buzzwordy, and I didn't understand what they were asking, so I opened the attachment.

It was clearly a copy/paste of a "business plan" courtesy of ChatGPT.

I replied and told the founder, "I am not sure what this means, and I'd suggest using a one-pager or a deck next time rather than something that came just from ChatGPT."

The founder deleted their messages.

🤦‍♀️This was the wrong thing to say.

🫵 I should have been more generous.

🫵 I should have suggested other resources to prepare for or ways to start conversations with an investor.

🫵 I should have recognized that they were early, perhaps inexperienced, and were leveraging AI to the best of their ability. They were taking a chance and putting their idea out into the world.

I get so many messages every day, it's hard to keep up and provide a thoughtful response to each one. It's not an excuse, but I'm often doing them on the phone late at night or when waiting in line at the grocery store. Basically, it's times when I am not giving them my full attention, and I'm just trying to rush through.

So I came up with an offer for these sorts of messages, so I can help them, rather than make them feel bad: My Digital Twins.
